About the Role

The Port Worker will provide operational labour support within the terminal environment. Successful candidates will assist with cargo operations, equipment cleaning, inspections, housekeeping activities and maintaining safety standards throughout the terminal.

This role plays an important part in ensuring efficient cargo movement and supporting day-to-day terminal operations.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Equipment Cleaning

Duties include:

  • Cleaning ship-to-shore crane windows
  • Cleaning crane cabins and operational machinery
  • Assisting with equipment maintenance readiness
  • Ensuring equipment remains clean and safe for operation

Cargo Operations Support

Responsibilities include:

  • Loading and off-loading cargo
  • Assisting with cargo slacking activities
  • Hooking and unhooking cargo safely
  • Tarping and untarping cargo
  • Placing and removing dunnage during cargo handling

Container and Rail Operations

Successful candidates may be required to:

  • Inspect container conditions
  • Monitor reefer container activities
  • Open and close rail wagon twist-locks
  • Support cargo movement operations within the terminal

Cleaning and Housekeeping

Responsibilities include:

  • Cleaning operational work areas
  • Cleaning rail trucks and equipment

Documentation and Reporting

Minimum Requirements
